The “Sacro Companies” have been serving the

needs of Everett citizens for over 60 years.

Salvy J. Sacro began his career shining shoes, setting up bowling pins in

Glendale Square, and had four different newspapers routes in Everett. Sal

began building wood window cornices for his newspaper customers in his

parent’s basement on Carlson Street. His talent was quickly recognized

and at age ten he was hired to build and install his first complete set

of kitchen cabinets. “Sacro Kitchens” was born. Always a hard worker,

he opened a kitchen cabinet showroom in Glendale Square. Later he

purchased the same building at the corner of Broadway and Ferry

Street. He gained valuable experience renovating apartments over the

showroom. Sal developed Glendale Court Apartments next to Eastern

Bank and Sacro Plaza in Everett Square to serve the housing needs of

Everett’s residents. He later developed affordable retirement housing at

the original Everett High School on Summer Street which is now the

Whitney-Lorenti House named for two of his valued employees. One of

Sal’s mottos has always been, “bad things happen for good reasons”. Sal

makes Everett his home and continues to serve Everett’s housing needs.
