The Community Family is a mission-driven
non-profit organization that delivers high quality
adult day health services to seniors and disabled
adults in the Everett area. We provide a six-hour
day program comprised of nursing care, social
services, therapeutic activities, and socialization
designed to keep our participants safely in their
homes as long as possible. Our Everett Adult
Day Health Center, housed in a beautiful new
building in a residential neighborhood, provides
an active day program to a diverse group ranging
in age from 40 to 95 years old. The Community
Family also offers a specialized care memory care
adult day health program at Medford Center to
citizens of Everett. We provide transportation to
and from our centers. The Community Family
improves quality of life for both our participants
and their families. Family members gain peace
of mind knowing that their loved ones are happy
and well cared for. Our participants spend happy
days in home-like settings where they become
part of our family.

The Everett Advocate Newspaper first began
publishing in 1991, becoming Advocate Newspapers,
Inc. founder James David Mitchell’s second weekly
free tabloid newspaper following The Revere
Advocate. Alongside his partner and mentor-father,
James D. Mitchell, Jr., the company grew into four
weekly newspapers, adding The Malden Advocate
and Saugus Advocate to the fold. The Advocate
Newspapers, Inc. are independently-owned and
operated, providing a colorful reflection of their
respective communities, highlighting local political,
sports, and the social scenes. James David is a Past
Distinguished President and current board member
of the Everett Kiwanis Club, as well as a longtime
member for the Everett Chamber of Commerce.
In 2011, the Everett Advocate was honored by the
E-Club of Everett with the “Distinguished Sports
Journalism Award.” The Advocate provides yearly
financial support to local sports teams and civic
organizations as well as free publicity to all non-profit
organizations. An advertiser-supported company,
the Advocate Newspapers boasts loyal advertisers
who have supported the newspapers for over two
decades while the advertisers enjoy financial success
due to the newspapers’ enthusiastic readership. The
